Trends in electronics
- Automation and digitalization result in more electronic waste in industry and commerce.
- Increased need for control through simple solutions and handling of confidential material.
- ID theft and other digital crimes are increasing - we have solutions for securely handling confidential information.
- Develop the processes for re-use. Find more products whose life can be extended.
- Continue to robotize the flow with, for example, X-ray technology that helps to sort the material already on the conveyor belt.
Facts about electronics
- Producing a new freon refrigerator results in two tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Recycling freon fridges reduces this environmental impact. It also stops harmful gases leaking out from leftover products and causing further damage to the environment.
- Recycling a mobile phone saves enough energy to power a 9W lamp for 206 days.
- In total, Stena Recycling recycles approximately 250 kilos of gold / year. This is roughly equivalent to the weight of 25,000 wedding rings.
